Comment:Candida glabrata is a pathogenic hemiascomycete yeast that is the second most frequent causative agent of human candidasis, after Candida albicans. Despite its name, it is phylogenetically more closely related to Saccharomyces cerevisiae than to other Candida species. Candida glabrata is haploid and has no known sexual cycle.
