Comment:Cryptococcus neoformans is a bipolar heterothallic fungus that causes cryptococcosis, one of the most serious fungal diseases worldwide. Filobasidiella neoformans, has never been observed in nature and was obtained on artificial medium inducing mating of two Cryptococcus strains of different mating type.
