Comment:Ostreococcus tauri is a small marine, photosynthetic organism measuring less than 1 micrometer in size. It belongs to family Prasinophyceae which is believed to be the most primitive in the green lineage from which all other green algae, and ancestors of land plants have descended. It includes several photosynthetic picoeukaryotic organisms. O. tauri exhibits simple cellular structure with relatively large nucleus having one nuclear pore and a reduced cytoplasm with one chloroplast, one mitochondrion, and one Golgi body. It lacks flagella.
